Why C++?

It is at least the second-best programming language for scientific computation (in terms of getting the numbers). In my view, it would be the best if it had matrix and vector (not that vector) as a part of its standard library.

High quality free tools

• GSL (GNU Scientific Library)

Reasonably-priced commercial tools (I do not like expensive software and will not use them)

• Intel MKL library: Intel's implementation of LAPACK and other stuff.

Purely-Computational Projects

Related to the need to develop a XML representation of atomic data, and a database that stores such data, is a need to develop
